Egg roll in a bowl
A deconstructed version of the classic egg roll, pairing savory sautéed vegetables and sausage with aromatic jasmine rice, topped with sesame seeds and a drizzle of sweet chili sauce for garnish.
Ingredients
- Prepared jasmine rice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 1/4 head of green cabbages, chopped (about 2 cups)
- 3 large carrots, peeled and chopped
- 1 pound sausage (‘country’, ‘traditional’, or ‘regular’)
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce or coconut aminos
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Sesame seeds for garnish
- Sweet chili sauce for garnish
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil.
- Add diced onion, chopped green cabbage, chopped carrots, and sausage. Sauté until sausage is cooked through.
- Stir in chicken broth, sesame oil, and soy sauce/coconut aminos. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the mixture over prepared jasmine rice.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and drizzle with sweet chili sauce.
