Quick Cinnamon Buns
Quick and delicious cinnamon buns with a sweet, buttery filling and topped with a sticky glaze. Perfect for breakfast or a dessert treat.

Ingredients
- 5 lbs all-purpose flour
- 5 oz baking powder
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 lb 4 oz shortening
- 7 1/2 cups milk
- 1 cup margarine
- 2 lbs (packed) brown sugar
- 2 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 lb raisins
- 8 oz melted margarine
- 1 lb 4 oz (packed) brown sugar
Instructions
- Sift flour, baking powder and salt.
- Cut or rub in shortening as for biscuit, add milk and mix. This mixture will be a soft dough.
- Turn out on a floured bench and knead lightly. Divide dough into two 5 lb pieces.
- Roll each piece into rectangular sheet about 12 inches wide and 1/4 inch thick.
- Mix together the margarine, brown sugar, and cinnamon; spread on dough except leading edge of dough, approx. 3/4 inch. Wet the leading edge of dough with water. Sprinkle raisins over top of smear.
- Roll up like jelly roll, press roll at leading edge to seal. Shape to cylinder approx. 2 1/2 inches in diameter. Cut 1 inch thick pieces.
- Place on greased pans and cover with pan glaze made by melting margarine and mixing with brown sugar.
- Bake at appropriate temperature until golden brown and cooked through.
