Chocolate Hedgehog Slice
A sweet treat combining chocolate, butter, sweetened condensed milk, and biscuits, topped with a layer of melted chocolate.
Ingredients
- 100g butter
- 395g sweetened condensed milk
- 150g dark chocolate
- 250g plain sweet biscuits, crushed
- 45g desiccated coconut
- 65g walnuts, roughly chopped
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- For the topping:
- 290g dark chocolate, extra
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or coconut oil, optional
Instructions
- Grease and line an 18 x 28cm slice tin with baking paper and set aside.
- Place the butter, sweetened condensed milk and dark chocolate into a microwave-safe bowl. Heat on 50% power for 3-4 minutes or until melted. Stir well.
- Add the crushed biscuits, desiccated coconut, walnuts, and cocoa powder and mix together well.
- Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared tin, pressing down firmly.
- Melt the extra dark chocolate melts and vegetable oil (or coconut oil) in a microwave-safe bowl on 50% power, 3-4 minutes (stirring every 30 seconds), or until just melted.
- Pour the melted chocolate over the top of the slice and refrigerate for a minimum of 3 hours.
