Parm-Dusted Garlic-Butter Pull-Apart Dinner Rolls
Soft and warm garlic-butter dinner rolls dusted with parmesan, perfect as a side dish or just to snack on.
Ingredients
- 1/2 stick (1/4 cup) unsalted butter, plus more for buttering the pan and topping before baking
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 3 1/4 cups flour, more as needed
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1/3 cup (1 ounce) finely grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese
- Extra flour for dusting
- Extra melted butter
- Extra grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese for sprinkling
Instructions
- Melt 1/2 stick butter in a small bowl and allow to cool. Butter a 9x13 inch pan generously.
- Warm 1 cup milk and 2 tablespoons of sugar in a small saucepan till just warm. Dissolve 1 packet yeast in this mixture and let stand till frothy.
- Combine 3 1/4 cups of flour with 2 eggs, 1 teaspoon of sea salt, and the yeast mixture in a stand mixer with a dough hook attachment.
- Knead on low speed till a sticky dough forms, adding one tablespoon of flour at a time if it's too sticky.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place covered with a towel till doubled in size.
- Form into 12 balls and place in the buttered pan. Let rise covered again till puffed up.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Bake until tops are puffy and golden, about 20-25 minutes.
- Brush the warm rolls with melted butter and sprinkle with finely grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese.
- Serve hot from oven.
